About the Artisan FX Hien

The Artisan FX Hien is a medium-speed gaming mouse pad built around a fast initial movement, balanced stopping power and a deliberately rough, highly textured surface.

Its hardened cloth surface creates strong tactile feedback as the mouse moves across the pad. Rather than trying to feel like a conventional smooth cloth mouse pad, the Hien makes its texture an important part of the experience.

The Hien combines a sharp initial start with enough stopping ability to control the movement afterwards. This gives it a distinctive balance of speed and control while retaining the pronounced surface feedback for which the Hien is known.

For players who enjoy being able to physically feel the surface underneath their mouse and prefer a more tactile mouse pad, the Hien offers a very different experience from smoother cloth surfaces.

Rough Textured Surface

One of the defining characteristics of the Hien is its very rough texture.

Artisan uses a hardened crepe-knit cloth surface designed to provide powerful texture feedback. This pronounced texture makes the Hien feel noticeably different from a traditional smooth cloth mouse pad.

The surface also provides a fast initial start, allowing the mouse to begin moving quickly while retaining balanced stopping power once in motion.

The Hien is therefore particularly well suited to players who deliberately want strong surface feedback and a more tactile glide rather than a soft or silky mouse pad feel.

MID Base

This version of the Artisan Hien uses the MID base, Artisan’s firmest base option.

MID compresses less under downward pressure than SOFT or XSOFT, creating a firmer playing surface and helping provide a consistent glide.

Artisan associates the MID base particularly with tracking-heavy aiming styles, where its firmer foundation and lower level of compression can help maintain consistent movement across the surface.

The combination of the Hien surface and MID base creates a particularly direct version of the Hien experience: pronounced texture, fast initial movement and a firm foundation underneath the playing surface.

XL Size

The XL Artisan Hien measures 490 × 420 mm and is 3 mm thick with the MID base.

The XL size provides a large usable gaming area for broad movements and smaller adjustments while retaining a conventional rectangular mouse pad format.

Artisan identifies XL as its recommended mouse pad size, making it a practical choice for a wide range of gaming setups.

Who Is the Artisan Hien MID For?
